I realize it's hard for the mods to catch reregs. Yet it gets so frustrating when you report them and nothing happens. At one point, "Valerie" was here in one of her personas, and despite all the reports, even showing comments from her past and current personas to demonstrate how clear it was, nothing happened. Finally, a few of us got through, chimed in together, and it worked. Sally banned her latest account, and even apologized for the latency. Since then, her rereg attempts have been nipped in the bud very quickly; her very first comments are recognized by many people, because of her "tells", and then poof. Kudos to the mods on that.
What happens when a 'viner newly admits that they knew someone is a rereg (in a discussion with the mods, no less, and provided links to support their allegation) - someone who had been reported to no avail a couple of years ago - and who had admitted it in emails to a couple of 'viners who were formerly friends? Especially when the comparison of the comments and posting history makes it clear to pretty much anyone who takes a serious look. Do we try again to report them? Do we just accept that nothing will happen?
Re-regs, in my opinion, are one of the banes of Newsvine. There's no point in banning anyone if re-regs are not cut off. Thoughts?
Update: this person was banned. Dave wasn't even here when the original reports were made about Bruce reregging, but apparently he followed up with the new evidence. Kudos. The other person I vented about, the rereg of magnoliaave, was also banned today. So ... never give up.
