Denali was out for us!

We saw this calve, but didn't get any pictures of that. Still gorgeous!

These sea otters just floated all around the ship, happy as can be. I want one!

He was a big boy!

Poor mama moose after the bear killed her calf.

This grizzly was eating a moose calf he had just killed :(

I finally managed to get the humpback's tail.

Sea Lions - before the male jumped on and tilted the buoy. He was fat!
My mom and I just took a vacation in Alaska. All I can say is, thank goodness we invented digital cameras! I'm still going through the photos and deleting the ones that didn't turn out (I have many pictures of empty sea, taken while trying to get the whales when they surfaced), and organizing them. But I thought I'd share some of the wildlife we saw on the trip. It was so hard to choose which ones to post; some of the scenery is amazing too, such as the sunset pictures I shot at 12:30 in the morning. I managed not to smuggle a baby sled dog, or a sea otter, out of there.
I got a picture of a lynx through a bus window, but I was using my mom's camera and the flash was set to auto. It was just dark enough that the flash went off, and by the time I turned it off, we were past the lynx. I'd like to brighten up the cat while leaving the woods dark - but I have no clue how to do that or what software would work best.
Next Friday I'll try to post a few more - the sled dogs were incredible, and we were very fortunate that Denali was out for us. We were pulled along in a wheeled cart, and boy do those dogs love their job!
