Doc Watson - who inspired more flatpickers than just about anyone - has passed away.  He helped make the guitar a lead instrument - and as a headbanger who loves having two lead guitars in my music, I have to thank Doc. 

He was blind, and music needs no eyes.  Many musicians today were inspired by Doc Watson in some way, even if they don't realize it.  We think of the Beatles or Rolling Stones changing the face of music - but people like this are who made those band possible.

This isn't a tribute worthy of Doc Watson, but it's all I can come up with, and the article is worth reading.
